Houston Fuel Oil Terminal Company (“HFOTCO”) is a world-class marine terminal strategically located on the Houston Ship Channel. SemGroup acquired HFOTCO in July 2017 as part of its long-term strategy to add secure, downstream cash flow to its portfolio mix. In addition to generating stable earnings for SemGroup on day one, this remarkably versatile asset provides an entirely new growth platform to capture opportunities within the Houston Ship Channel’s massive processing, trading and import/export complex.

Occupying over 330 acres, the terminal provides crude oil, residual fuel oil, feedstocks and refined products terminal storage services. HFOTCO’s current crude oil expansion will increase its overall tank storage capacity to 18.25 million barrels. With its roots in fuel oil, HFOTCO is one of the largest providers of residual fuel oil storage on the U.S. Gulf Coast. In addition, HFOTCO has provided crude oil terminal services for many years serving the supply needs of local refineries.

The company’s crude oil capacity and connectivity has more than doubled in the last 5 years, including the addition of crude oil export capabilities. HFOTCO has also expanded to handle refined products such as naphtha, jet fuel, and other distillate products.
